Danica showed Erin a picture of this crumbled temple and Erin decided to paint it. She learned later that many people had died as they sought refuge in this mosque and it was bombed. Erin sent it to Amici, Bosnia for there was no better place for it. It turns out that these ruins had been bulldozed and a new mosque erected. Many felt disenfranchised by this and the rift it cause in the community was healed by hanging Erin's painting in the new mosque.

The ancients used to bury their dead by excarnation (birds would eat the body) along the banks of the Danube River. They formed temples to the bird goddess that stood for thousands of years until the 1970's when the river was damned. inspired by an extraordinary feeling of love and connection with a horse while Erin was vegan and studying to be a yoga instructor. Being free from the guilt of hurting animals and making a big effort towards ahimsa-non harming, she was able to connect deeply with animals and it seemed this horse was thanking her on behalf of animal kind. He laid his head in her lap for more than a half an hour and stared into her eyes...

Painted mostly live, the second session that really shaped it was at the Alibi Room with an abstract electronica ensemble. Erin painted the whole evening under red light (so she could not tell which colors were being used) with this piece upside down. When the show was over she turned it right side up and put on a regular light. This piece was stolen and is floating somewhere around Seattle--if you see it, please tell Erin

Oil on Canvas, Available. This woman is bathing her heart in light and birthing a garden. Erin heard a story of a pregnant woman in the middle of the war in Bosnia. Violence is all around her and in her home. She has an overwhelming urge to protect her unborn child in a world of death all around her. Beyond her control she grabs a permanent marker and draws a large spiral on her belly. She feels immediately calm and safe. The spiral is an ancient symbol of protection and guiding the flow
